One minute you're fine, and the next...

You're at the vet. Again. And I'm not talking about Boy Cat. This is how I feel. Why is it that even with the advanced knowledge that his congenital heart defect would most likely be the end of him, was I still taken off guard?

It was a tough decision to make, but we couldn't let him suffer for our benefit and so, late on a Wednesday night, at the emergency pet hospital, I said goodbye to the sweetest (and dumbest) kitty that ever lived. 

And it's funny how for a while, I'll still see him out of the corner of my eye. And the photos on our digital frame of our son hugging on him will be sad and painful. And I'll still catch myself writing "f/w" (food/water) on my daily to do list.

My biggest sadness is that our kiddo will never remember Boy Cat and what a sweet, loving, and patient kitty he was to an energetic, though equally loving, toddler. Hug your fur babies, friends.

Always a cuddle bug. Always. ALWAYS.

Let's face it, I'm just here for the puns

Being able to say "you've cat to be kitten me right meow" several times a day is now part of my job. And if you're not jealous- I suggest you stop reading now. It's clear already that we can't be friends.
